Legendary GUARNERI UNDERGROUND returns to Anacortes for a one night only event. With originial members Geoffery Castle, Beth Quist, and TJ Morris. Special guests keyboard wizzard Brook Lizotte and on bass Steve Boyce. Think of this as a musical trip around the world in the company of some amazing musicians.
Electric Six-string Violinist Geoffrey Castle fearlessly brings the violin back to center stage with virtuoso showmanship and a 21st century attitude.
Beth Quist is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer with a world class 4-octave soprano voice that has led her to perform and tour with Bobby McFerrin, Sherefe’, Cirque du Soleil, and many others. As a solo performer she has recorded 4 albums playing guitar, hammer dulcimer, keyboards, and world percussion… often simultaneously. Her style has a strong poly-rhythmic, middle-eastern flair. As a producer and composer she has worked on music for film, dance, theater, video, and other multi-media projects.
TJ. Morris is a powerful vocalist and versatile percussionist. His energy on world drum kit (full drum set plus congas, African djembe, and gourd) draws every audience’s attention. T.J.’s skills come from years of intensive study, playing, and recording, including four years on the Los Angeles music scene. He currently is recording music for national TV commercials.
Brook Lizotte grew up making music with many of the great musicians from the Pacific Northwest … … the music up here through the 60’s and 70’s was funky-Rock & Roll, and very cool Funk and Soul music … The bands were hot… the real stuff with those deep, rootsy grooves. After living in Los Angeles for the better part of the last 20 years he moved back to Seattle to make music.
Steve Boyce has two passions in life—music and audio. A man of many talents, Steve has spent his professional career as an audio engineer, producer, interactive audio producer, musician (bass and guitar) and songwriter. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Pacific NW Chapter of the NARAS and other programs in support of fostering music in the community. He currently plays with the legendary YES drummer Alan White in the band WHITE.
This promises to be a night of unforgetable music and magic. Tickets are $10 and available at the door
